And while you're at it, MS SourceSafe too.
Given the complicated directory structure of IS projects, which source and
output mixed together, this would be a *very* welcome new feature.

Thanks, I got with the person who originally installed PVCS for us and
figured out that he did not install the additional component neccessary for
it to work. I installed that today and it works great.

In attempting to use the source control in D7 I have noticed that the
InstallScript file(s) don't get updated to the source control's database.
Is this intentional, or am I doing something wrong?
Currently I am having to update the .rul files outside of D7. Is there a
way to integrate it with the rest of the .idt files that D7 puts into the
source database?
Which brings me to another question. If the .rul files don't get updated in
the project through D7 are there other part to the project that don't get
updated as well?
One of the purposes of using a source control database is so that if you
loose a local hard drive you have a backup in the source control. Another
is so that multiple people can work on the same project. If there are parts
of the project that don't get updated in the source control through D7 I
might as well just check the files in and out through the source control's
interface because it would be pointless to have to do it in both places.
Thanks,
Alan

Alan Busch:
When you check a project in and out of the source control using our IDE, the
only thing that is placed in source control is the project file itself,
which is a group of files consisting of an {ProjectName}.ISV file, a folder
full of IDT files (one for every table in your project) and binary data
stored in project tables. Binary data is checked in under a subfolder of
the name of the table that contained the binary data (For example, at the
same level as Binary.idt, you will see a folder called Binary). However,
..rul files and other file associated (not stored within the project file)
with your project are not checked in.
I agree that this would be a nice feature to have. I have submitted a
feature request for this so it can be considered for future releases of the
product.
Thank you for your feedback,
Mike Marino
