I have a question or two about the new Reporting feature available with FLEXnet Operations v12...
The Installation Guide and Release Notes indicate that, "It is recommended that each database and server be installed on a separate host. A full installation of FLEXnet Operations with Reporting functionality would comprise at least 5 separate hosts."
What are the particular factors that lead to the recommendation of deploying 5 separate servers? Is this recommendation intended for a high-volume activation/fulfillment environment? That is, supposing we are handling a relatively low volume of connections and the database sizes are not growing huge, is there really enough of a performance issue to need to roll out 3 SQL Servers plus 2 dedicated servers for each of the application servlets?
