I cant give much information about my version of InstallShield. I'm not even sure if its version 11.5 or not. When I open InstallShield, no text is displayed. It came with my new computer so its something I didnt install so I don't know the version number. My computer is running Windows XP Media Center if that makes a difference. Here is a screenshot so you can see what I'm talking about (and Paint is to blame for the blurriness and thanks to imageshack for hosting):

I hope someone can help me here and any help is very much appreciated.

Looks like the InstallShield Update Service manager control panel tool. It is used to manage automatic updates. However you don't seem to have any applications registered for automatic updates. This tool is not part of Windows, some application must have installed it. Maybe you uninstalled that application afterwards.

Thanks for the information. Is there a list of programs somewhere that use the InstallShield Update Service control panel or would you know? I know that when I first ran my computer, it had some software that I didnt need, so I uninstalled them. Would re-installing the software that used this program, fix it?

Thanks again for your help. It is much appreciated. I'm sorry if this topic is in the wrong section.

I don't think there's such a list, and I don't know if that would fix the problem but I think it might. Otherwise you could uninstall the update manager, as recently discussed in a similar thread.

Ok, thanks for the information. I probably wont uninstall it because I dont want it to mess up any other programs that may be using it.
