I worked on getting IS 11.5 installed over the holidays on my laptop (see previous posts). Now that I found a workaround, I have installed IS 11.5 on my desktop where I will create my builds. How can I activate the product on my desktop (I already activated it on my laptop so I could proceed)? Can I transfer the license to my desktop? I would like to keep it on my laptop to look at the features when I am out of the office, but all of the builds will be done on my desktop. Thank you.

Hi,

Have you tried activating the licence from the laptop also, this should work.
You should be able to run the installshield product from two machines under the same licence.

I have the same problem: For testing purposes I installed IS 11.5 in a virtual machine. Now I want to install IS 11.5 on my developing machine, but I am not able to use the license key again: Online registration gives me always the message, that the license is already in use.
How can I transfer the license from one computer to another ?
What are the license policies ?

You should only need to uninstall on one machine (so long as it is connected to the internet) in order to be able to activate on another machine.

Hope that helps.

It worked: First removed the software from the VM and then reinstalled on my developing machine. The license key worked. Normally I delete my VMs after testing without removing the software in it. What a luck, that I have not done this in this case.

You could also have asked Macrovision to remove one of the licences from their end. I recall having to do this once as I had the second registration on my machine at home.
