Generally, the role of administrators is to monitor the boards to ensure everything flows. Ensure members are not breaking forum rules, settle disputes, etc, etc. I was an administrator of a forum of a topic that I had only a little knowledge... some of our other administrators had plenty of knowledge.

Also the role of administrator might handled as a collatoral duty within the organization... you know, check the board two, three times a day.

Normally, a forum is built for members to help members... it is not to replace company support, unless specifically explained that it will.
