I've come across a puzzle and hope someone can help.

I have been requested by my boss to have IS quit checking for a previous version during an install.

Prior to this, I had been creating my projects with patch set to true, since we were supplying upgrades, but now the situation has arisen where it is necessary to release a prior version with an incremented revision number.

To clarify:

version 1.3 was released.
then version 2.1 was released.
now, version 1.4 needs to be released, but IS complains that a newer version is already installed.

I have set the patch option to false and set upgrade check to false in the pre-install sequence, but I still get IS complaining about a newer version.

Anyone have a solution?

Thanks!

Robert

Can you generate a new UUID for your product (under General Information)? If you do this, it will act like a completely different product from your previous releases.

Hi Brian,

That was the solution I had come up with as well. I was just hoping there was some setting, bean, or something that would stop the version check.

Aren't management decisions wonderful? Who ever heard of releasing a newer version with an older version number? Ugh.

Thanks for replying!
