I have a client who is receiving a blank screen with only the text 1158: and an empty button when starting setup.exe on an NT Server 4.0 machine. If the client launches the .msi directly, the setup proceeds but the Setup Type is blank on the Ready to Install the Program screen and while copying files to the temp directory, the installation progran becomes idle.
Does anyone know what the 1158: is and how I can fix this setup program?

Error 1158 usually refers to populating String enteries from Setup.ini file. Check to make sure that Setup.ini file is valid and has string table enteries in it. The best way to eliminate this is by building a fresh release as it'll give you a new setup.ini file.
The issue with SetupType being Blank in something that is fixed in Express 3.53. If you are using Express 3.50, tnen you will be able to download Express 3.53 Maintenance release as a free upgrade when its released officially. If you are using Express 3.03, then you can go to Text and Messages under Customize the Setup Appearance . In there, you can use [SelectedSetupType] property for the Identifier IDS_IsVerifyReadyDlg_19. You will modify this identifier under tje ReadyToInstall Dialog. You can also do the above in Express 3.50 till Express 3.53 is officially released.

I am using InstallShield Express 3.51. My client is using NT Server 6.0 SP6a.
Below is the text of my setup.ini file. The only thing I am unsure of is the dots in the file path.
