get target os , version & target system locale

Hi all ,
I wish to know whether there is some JAVA API function which can be used in Universal X to know the target operating system , version & locale of the target system , so that i can provide localized files accordingly by writing code in dialog swing events.
Please help !!

Could you perhaps use System.getProperty (or $J) to get the values of the os.name, os.arch, os.version, and user.language Java system properties?

I am setting
cdt.version = none
cdt.version = 2.0.0
cdt.version = notequal

in a product action

I want to install a component based on $J(cdt.version)

I am setting a condition comparing strings
Evaluate = Must be met
Immutable = False
Compare Text = none
Operation = Equals Case Sensitive
Source=$J(cdt.version)

when $J(cdt.version) = none . I want to install component X. But it is not installing.

What Am I doing wrong ???
