Got warning -33003 concerning bracket notation. How to fix?

I got this warning:

** Warning -33003: Invalid bracket notation encountered in the target field of custom action SetARPReadme. Usage of <...> for target paths has been deprecated. Use [...] instead

How do I correct that?
(The IS project has been imported from an older version.)

The source of the error was a single <...> notation which I failed to notice in one of the various setup screens.
Replacing by [...] removed the warning.
Why doesn't the import function of old projects do this replacement automatically?
