Replacing one file [Archive] - Flexera Software Community

Pretty new to Dev8. We have developed a couple of hundred cutom MS office templates(Excel and Word) that are disposited in the Office user template folder. One of the templates needs to be replaced with an update and we don't what to create new CDs as updates just to replace one template.

Is there a way to create a MSI install that only replaces that one template without the template itself showing up as a program in the Add/Remove dialog. In other words can MSI be used to place files into specific folders?

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong, but it sounds like all you want to do is a patch. I have not written a patch yet, so I am not sure. A Minor upgrade will also do what you are requesting. I would suggest looking more into those.

Thank you. Yes I am looking at those and patching and minor upgrades are giving me some trouble.
