Hash table is too big

vBuild aborts when it is merging and packaging the files. The error I got from the output window is:

Packing all.vcu

ERROR: Hash table is too big.


Build Failed


What does that mean? What is the problem?

This is a bug, that was almost certainly fixed in the service pack released this week. Please upgrade and re-build (you have to re-match your versions).

I was using vBuild 1.0 SP 1 to import, match and package the setup files. When I took a look at the (auto) matching results, I found that some files with 0 byte size were listed as new in TARGETDIR group and in the unmatched file group. Those files have not be changed. I manually matched those files and did a rebuild. The problem went away.

I can see two problems here:
1. Auto match does not handle 0 bytes files very well
2. Build would fail if the matching isn't done correctly.
